Skywatch #24

Newstead Abbey, originally uploaded by duopastorale.

Moses and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and the seventy elders of Israel went up and saw the God of Israel. Under his feet was something like a pavement made of sapphire, clear as the sky itself.
Exodus 24:9-10

This was taken last week on my trip to Nottingham. Newstead Abbey was the former home of Lord Byron, founded by Henry II in 1170. The house has many rooms open for viewing, so many in fact that we had to break for lunch and then return to finish off. As you see we were blessed with clear skies, a rarity this summer in the UK ! Just click on the logo below for more skywatches. Happy weekend to everyone.

Beautiful photo!
The upwards shot really emphasises the rich blue sky.
Mike: What a great view of the sky though the opening.

It sounds like an interesting place, one of these years I will vacation there and see your lovely contry. A very nice shot for sky watch.

Oh, I think there's so much more to this story. The home of Lord Byron?? What a wonderful sky-graph, the vacant windows framing the sky, I just love it.
