Look, I have given you the authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy; nothing will ever harm you... The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet.

Luke 10:19 Romans 16:20
Yesterday I learnt a new song. It goes like this:
I went to the enemy's camp, and I
Took back what he stole from me
Took back what he stole from me
Took back what he stole from me
I went to the enemy's camp, and I
Took back what he stole from me
He's under my feet, he's under my feet
He's under my feet, he's under my feet
He's under my feet, he's under my feet
Satan is under my feet.
It got me thinking about how easy it is to get discouraged and give up when we think satan is getting the upper hand. Sometimes we get into the mindset that we really don't have much power of the enemy. But the Bible says something quite different! If we look at these verses they are quite extraordinary. Jesus gives us authority over all the power of the enemy. Pardon? Was that all the power of the enemy? Yes, ALL. That's quite a truth to ponder on!
And do you notice the pecking order here? Satan is very definitely under us. God puts him under our feet. That means we are stronger than him. It's all about authority. If Jesus gives us the authority over him then we are stronger and he has to listen to us. May we remain vigilant and have the faith to exercise that amazing authority that God bestows on us.
