He's Under My Feet

Luke 10:19 Romans 16:20

Yesterday I learnt a new song. It goes like this:
I went to the enemy's camp, and I
Took back what he stole from me
Took back what he stole from me
Took back what he stole from me
I went to the enemy's camp, and I
Took back what he stole from me

He's under my feet, he's under my feet
He's under my feet, he's under my feet
He's under my feet, he's under my feet
Satan is under my feet.
It got me thinking about how easy it is to get discouraged and give up when we think satan is getting the upper hand. Sometimes we get into the mindset that we really don't have much power of the enemy. But the Bible says something quite different! If we look at these verses they are quite extraordinary. Jesus gives us authority over all the power of the enemy. Pardon? Was that all the power of the enemy? Yes, ALL. That's quite a truth to ponder on!

And do you notice the pecking order here? Satan is very definitely under us. God puts him under our feet. That means we are stronger than him. It's all about authority. If Jesus gives us the authority over him then we are stronger and he has to listen to us. May we remain vigilant and have the faith to exercise that amazing authority that God bestows on us.

I am so glad I have God on my side. Satan is so strong. This is yet another great post. Thanks.
This is just a wonderful post - I have never really thought about it that way - it always seems so much harder...like a struggle...but when you realize and pray for God to continue to give you strengh it is right there for us...

Thanks..
"...NOTHING will ever harm you"-
now that's a promise I can cling to!

I've sung that song before. Amen! Can't help but think of 1 Jn 4:4. So true and something we need to be reminded of often.

This is the kind of truth that can take time to absorb, embrace & fully believe. We believe truths on a number of different levels, and sometimes I find myself with unbelieving parts holding out... May we receive grace to fully & wholeheartedly believe this truth. :)

yes. I play piano--very, very little! :)

Currently reading early chapters of Joshua, so going to the enemies camp is very appropriate. As Joshua and Achan discovered,in order to have the enemy under your feet, obedience is required.

The first verse was one of the first verses I learned. A friend of mine scribbled it on a piece of paper and I held onto it for a long time while I was going through a crisis few years ago.
Yes, He is under our feet!!
We sing that song in our church sometimes.

So if Satan confronts me in the form of a burgler with a gun, how do I have ALL the power? I'm sorry but I'm not getting my head around this. I have watched the news and then prayed that a little girl who was upducted, not be hurt. A few days later I learn she was raped and killed. Who had the power there?
