Everything

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Hebrews 13:8

Do you worry? I wonder what you worry about. Is it your future, family, money situation, your health? Or maybe, like me, you spend your time having anxious thoughts about the little things, like the car starting in the morning, the bills, having enough time to do everything, the onset of Christmas; I could go on. There is after all an insurance for almost everything. This morning I noticed an insurance for dental health and I immediately started worrying that my teeth were going to fall out through lack of money. Here in the UK people spend a fortune on private health insurance because they worry that our free health service will not be enough for them. We live in an everchanging world, and the media and advertisers make the most of our fears for their own financial gain.

Jesus Christ never ever changes. God says to us in the Bible, 'Do not fear, do not be anxious, I will provide for you'. He repeats this countless times throughout the Bible. Some say that the words 'do not fear' appear 366 times; once for every day and for a leap year! He is our Provider. He is our loving Father. He promises to give us all that we need. The God of the Bible is the God of the now. He is telling us not to worry today, not to worry for a second longer. Let's say together, 'I trust You LORD, for everything I need, now and forever. Everything'.

Everytime I think about worry, I think of this:

22And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.

23The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.

24Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?

Luke 12:22-24 KJV

With faith, there is nothing to worry about.

By the time I get to verse 37, it makes me say "Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!"

Peace brother! Nice post.

Thank you so much for this post. I needed the encouragement after what's happened in the past week.

God bless, and Shalom!

I worry about what I am going to do when I graduate. I know God wants me to be a missionary in Iraq but I don't know what to do to get there.
Thanks for the reminder!

We are all human and we all worry. After what I faced this year with my daughters brain cancer then to make a long story short God healed her (Praise the Lord)I have realized there are things that really do not matter. I used to think everything had to be in order....I now realize it does not matter. What matters is serving God and staying in His will so He can work through us.
Thanks for this post. We all need to put our trust in our Lord.

The "What ifs" drive us crazy! Most most of the time...the "what ifs" never happen...so we just live it moment by moment in love and prayer and thanksgiving!
Great post...great reminder!!

I really like this post. I had the same thought that Michaelonbass had. Matthew 6: 34 says, Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself, Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. God gives us the grace to face each day as it comes becasue tomorrow is the yesterday that we feared. Have a great weekend. connie from Texas
Mike,
Insurance for everything- that is so true. We are prone to thinking we can buy (and labor) our way towards security. But taking up our cross and following Him into the unknown is the way to a life of peace, power, and provision for the task He calls us to.

Keep telling us to go onward with Him- cause once we've decided to follow Jesus, there is no turning back, ...no turning back.

I am reminded of the times I have dog-sat for people. Both times the dogs were generally ok, but anxious. One would go and look out the window for his parents to return. The anxiety they felt in the absence caused them to not truly relax. Certainly anxiety removes us from the present moment and what it has for us.
