New Year's Eve Prayer

HEAVENLY FATHER, as we stand at the door of a new year, we thank You for the year that is passed and the many ways You have proved Your love and faithfulness to us. Thank You for carrying us through all the joys and sorrows. In the light of Your goodness, we place our hand in Yours, trusting in Your provision and leading for the coming year. We pray that we will see an increase in Your Presence, both on us individually, and on us as a church as we seek more of Your Kingdom in this place. Let the hungry be fed, the lost found, the sick healed, the broken restored, the prisoners released, and may every person who enters this place experience Your favour and Your blessing.

Above all, may the name of Jesus be lifted up and exalted, through our words, actions and lives, within these walls and onto the streets. To this end we commit ourselves to You, our strengths and our weaknesses. We consider our lives not our own, but wholly belonging to You, to lead and direct as You will. May we rejoice in all that You do, and pick ourselves up quickly when we fall, bearing with each other and showing one another the grace and forgiveness You have shown toward us.
