The Nativity


This week the BBC are airing a four-part series on The Nativity.. If you can see it somehow then you must! The whole approach is to show us just how human the characters were and how they would have responded... much like us. And the birth of Jesus is one of the most moving scenes of TV I have ever seen. Wonderful stuff!

I saw this. It put quite a different slant on things but was in some ways too modernistic for me. People living two thousand years ago were thoroughly taught the ancient records in the Old Testament and would probably not react so rationally as Joseph in particular is made to do in this drama. They would have had a far more universal acceptance of the existence of God and the potential of supernatural intervention than people living now in this rational age.
