The 7 July 2005 London bombings (also called the 7/7 bombings) were a series of coordinated suicide bomb attacks. They were aimed at London's public transport system during the morning rush hour.
At 08:50, three bombs exploded within fifty seconds of each other on three London Underground trains. Then a fourth exploded an hour later at 09:47 on a bus in Tavistock Square. The bombs were packed into rucksacks and set off by the bombers themselves.

Wonderful picture with the sun setting! Thanks! Cathy
that was five years ago already? it seemed like yesterday isn't it.
have a great weekend.
Marvelous, moving shot and it is hard to believe it was five years ago -- we feel the same way over here about 9/11 -- hard to believe it was that long ago. Hope you have a great weekend, Mike!

Happy skywatching!
My skywatch is here.
This is a very beautiful and touching memorial to those who died at the hands of terrorists. I like how you captured the brilliant sun at the top of the steel pillars. It makes them look like lit candles glowing.
Wonderful post and great photo!
I remember reading of that terrifying day. It seems at times that the world has gone mad.
This is a beautiful memorial. thanks for showing it to us.
Thank you for reminding us, Mike, of those who died tragically and senselessly in this act of terror. It is a beautiful monument and the picture is very moving.
Blessings,
Abbey
