Beautiful In Its Time

He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.
Ecclesiasties 3:11

Today it's time to celebrate a birthday. This I do... is 2 years old. When I posted my first post on June 29, 2007, I had no idea what I was doing and really didn't expect much response. But since that day I have appreciated the many responses and even friendships that have started. It has all meant a great deal to me, and I want to thank all of you who read, comment and those who encourage me to keep going. For that is what this blog is about, pressing on towards that prize without giving up. And as someone who stumbles rather a lot, that is what I need to keep reminding myself.

This year is proving to be a challenging time of persevering and waiting, so I was delighted when I was wandering in the garden a few weeks ago and spotted these flowers. About 10 or more years ago I planted a bottlebrush and phormium, and this year for the very first time they have flowered! There were many times I felt like digging up that bottlebrush and giving up, but here it is! It only has one solitary flower but I'm so glad I waited. Maybe there is a lesson there.

My heartiest congratulations. I remember when I started that there were no comments. Just kept writing for me. Then "friends" arrived to visit and all I could do is smile. It is fun to be here! Have a grand day! Cathy

Happy second birthday!
Thanks for your encouraging and thoughtful words. You really have a ministry here, as well as being an amateur Alan Titchmarsh!(think I've spelt this right).

Well Happy Happy Birthday to "This I do"

Mike I don't remember how or when I found your blog....but I can tell you I'm so glad I did.

You have been an inspiration to so many, myself included...I call you my Blog Pastor.

I pray for many for years for you and your blog. The flowers are beautiful, and nature can teach us many valuable lessons, can't it.

I love the look of your blog....it is so you and it's perfect.
