Some time ago our church used some material from Freedom In Christ Ministries for the evening sermon series; I Am Significant, I Am Secure and I Am Accepted. I honestly don't remember these talks having huge impact on me at the time, but just recently I heard these foundational scriptures being read on the radio again. I remember thinking that the teaching was quite basic and I shrugged it off. And then I felt that little nudge to look at it again, so I did. I sat down with my Bible and went through each scripture, not as a study, but just letting the words sink in. I felt quite transformed. I guess I shouldn't be surprised as this is the Word of God! I challenge you to print these off, sit down comfortably and read through these verses slowly and thoroughly. I can recommend it.
I am no longer worthless, inadequate, helpless or hopeless. In Christ I am deeply significant and special. God says:
- I am the salt of the earth and the light of the world - Matthew 5:13,14
- I am a branch of the true vine, Jesus, a channel of His life - John 15:1,5
- I have been chosen and appointed by God to bear fruit - John 15:16
- I am a personal, Spirit-empowered witness of Christ - Acts 1:8
- I am a temple of God - 1 Corinthians 3:16
- I am a minister or reconciliation for God - 2 Corinthians 5:17-21
- I am God's fellow worker - 2 Corinthians 6:1
- I am seated with Christ in the heavenly realms - Ephesians 2:6
- I am God's workmanship, created for good works - Ephesians 2:10
- I may approach God with freedom and confidence - Ephesians 3:12
- I can do all things though Christ who strengthens me - Philippians 4:13
