Sacrifice

Being in anguish, He prayed more fervently, and His sweat became like drops of blood falling to the ground...Jesus wept.
Luke 22:44 John 11:35

Sacrifice

Sometimes they roll like rivers
Down cheeks of flush and red
Drops of pain and sorrow
Down a weary head

Sometimes they rise like waters
From places yet untapped
Squeezing out the solitude
And all that is unsaid

Sometimes they burn like fire
Uncontrolled and fierce
Choking Gagging Strangling
Until the wave has passed

Sometimes they freeze like stills
Captured thoughts and eyes
Seeing nothing but all the loss
The endless sacrifice
