Fearfully & Wonderfully Made

But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.
2 Corinthians 12:9

In my recent blogging break I had more time to do some surfing, and I came across some great sites which I will be sharing with you later. Amongst them was this video which I found particularly encouraging. It is worth watching, if you have the time. It is the testimony of a man born with no limbs who still finds himself able to say ‘I am fearfully and wonderfully made’. It is encouraging, not in the sense that here is a man who has ‘worse’ problems than me (for the worst problems are the ones that I feel and suffer personally) but because here is a man who can see God’s power in his weakness and has chosen to give God glory and thanks in his adverse circumstances. This, in my opinion is the hardest and greatest healing that can be achieved.

My grandson was able to hear Nick V. in person at the Christian School he attends in Southern CA. He gave me his CD which shows how he manages to live a quite normal life and it also showed this testimony.

So glad you posted it Mike ~~ many people need to see and hear this.

Thanks for this incredible reminder that we truly have 'this treasure in earthen vessels.' When I think about the things we worry about; the way we look, what we wear, what people think about us -- what a waste of time when Jesus can be manifesting Himself through us in joy like Nick's - and making a difference in the world.

Thanks again -- I have been given much to think about.

(Wanda, nice to see you 'here')

Amazing. We complain about the smallest aches and pains and look at this your man. I am really amazed with him swimming.

And in eternity, his body will be complete. . . he is a shining example to those of us who have the limbs he doesn't.

Wow! was emotional and really touched. What an encouragemant he is to others. We are perfectly made and yet some of us are discontent. in spite of his physical disability,God knows and uses his available capabilities to full use.He appears content, not wollowing in his physical condition but gives glory to God. Thankx,Mike this is really an eye opener.

Extraordinary testimony. So moving and encouraging!
I'm a big fan of Nick's, too. Other youtube videos show his very funny sense of humor (try this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yo_24_qTNac); the guy just seems like someone who'd be a great friend and someone to hang around with, laughing and loving life. Thanks, Mike!
