Footprints

If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.
Psalm 139:9-10

It was two weeks ago today that I was in Portugal and coming to the end of a tiring day sightseeing. I arrived back at the appartment and my friend was not yet home so I decided to sit on the balcony and listen to some music on my mp3 player and read my Bible. 'Psalm 139' came the still small voice, so I made a cup of tea and settled myself down on the deckchair and looked out over the beautiful ocean as the sun began it's journey down to the horizon. I put on my headphones and started up the music player on shuffle.

As I opened up my Bible and began to read, I thought, 'How wonderful, this Psalm is perfect for today, it even mentions the sea and here I am watching the waves coming in'. And then immediately following that thought came a song on my player from the album 'Footprints' talking about God's provision and care for us even in dark times. A beautiful song based on the famous Footprints poem; a man walking along a beach. 'Now that's a coincidence', I thought, and then quickly realised that God was whispering to me. I am with you. I am helping you. You can't see Me but I am here to carry you and I love you. I felt encouraged and renewed.

A little while later my friend returned from visiting a friend who is a Pastor in the local town. 'I've been asked to preach and give my testimony in the church tomorrow night', she said, 'I think the Lord wants me to speak from Psalm 139'. Thank you Lord!

No coincidence. This is a beautiful post. God always come forward but so many times we jump ahead of Him. I am amazed with how my husband gets his messages from God and preaches through him.
Truly amazing! He speaks, you listen, then you act. What a Partnership. God is GOOD, all the time!!! Cathy

I took a footprints in the sand photo, too, and I will show it tomorrow. I was thinking the same, that God is carrying us.
