Weary & Waiting

Weary shopper - embroidery, originally uploaded by wardi.

He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint

Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, because He cares about you..... "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls........He said, "Don't be afraid, you who are treasured [by God]. Peace to you; be very strong!"

Isa 40:29-31 1 Peter 5:6-7 Matt 11:28-29 Daniel 10:19

That is one of my favourite verses. When I was very ill I read that verse every single day for over 2 years. It truly DID help me.

Thankyou Mike for reminding me to be always thankful.

Peace to you:)

Ah, resting and relying on his strength. Thank you for that reminder!

We just took our six-year-old to the hospital last night to get X-rayed. He had swallowed a metal ball to a magnetic play set. I am so thankful to God that he didn't choke. He only swallowed one and the X-ray showed it was in his stomach. We're praying now for it to pass.

Yes, Jesus is our strength...

Hi Mike.

I didn't know about this blog of yours. Thanks for leading me here :-)
Oh, I love that embroidered linen towel! Adorable. And I think God finds us adorable when we climb up to His heavenly lap and sit with Him for a while when we are weary.

Beautiful craft work to accompany beautiful Bible reminders. Did you embrodiery the piece? It almost looked like the linen some do counted cross stitch on here.

The passage from Isaiah is one of my favorites. An ensemble I sang with did a song named "Wait" based on this scripture. Some of the words..."Wait on Him patiently and He'll lift you up. He'll lift you up on eagles wings and you will soar, if you just wait, wait, wait, wait on the Lord." Great post!
