God Revealed

For a child will be born for us,
a son will be given to us,
and the government will be on His shoulders.
He will be named
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.

The dominion will be vast,
and its prosperity will never end.
He will reign on the throne of David
and over his kingdom,
to establish and sustain it
with justice and righteousness from now on and forever.
The zeal of the LORD of Hosts will accomplish this.
Isaiah 9:6-7

This is such a familiar passage, often heard during Advent and at every Christmas carol service. It is one of the many prophecies in the Old Testament pointing to the birth of Jesus Christ. However, what we often fail to notice here is the reference to the complete Godhead; the Father (Eternal Father) and the Holy Spirit (Wonderful Counsellor).

Jesus said, "Have I been among you all this time without your knowing Me, Philip? The one who has seen Me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'? "(John 14:9) and The Spirit of the Lord is on Me, because He has anointed Me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim freedom to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free the oppressed. Luke 4:18.

In Jesus, we see the fullness of God revealed in human form. For God was pleased to have all His fullness dwell in Him. Col.1:19. Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Now there's something mind blowing to meditate on!

Thank you for that :) Anyone who can see a child born and not believe God Created...I don't know...

What a great reminder! Sometimes we just skip over the familiar words and don't contemplate that they mean the Trinity is with us. Thanks for the reminder!

I still remember as if it was yesterday, holding my first born in my arm when she was just born, all red and scrunched up and gorgeous like her mummy. My heart overflowed with love and pride like nothing before. To think that my God loved me enough to let that precious bundle of His be taken away and hurt leaves me breathless.

I love that photo! It baffles me how someone can look at the miracle of human creation and still say there is no God!

It also reveals the Love of the Father towards us, His children.

Beautiful reflection:)

Peace to you:)

Sicarii, I have to say that I heard this insight from Premier Christian Radio; a programme by Colin Urquhart. It really struck me as something I had never heard before.

lately I have felt so responsible for making things right, for carrying my own stuff, etc. God has been emphasizing that he is the one who carries me; he is the one who carried the cross to bear my sin; he is the one on whose shoulders the government rests. I am in awe.
