Thirsty

As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God? ....Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me. Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Saviour and my God. My soul is downcast within me; therefore I will remember you.
Psalm 42:1,5

The Christian life is not all satisfaction and unending joy. Sometimes we get thirsty, hungry, and downright fed up! Often our difficult experiences are compounded by the fact that we just don't understand what is going on. If we could see a reason or purpose to our struggles then maybe they would be a little easier. The Bible is full of honest stories of people who complained to God and who thought they had been abandoned by Him. But God never abandons us. He will always bring us out of the darkness, sooner or later. We may understand what has happened to us or we may not. The most important thing is this; to put our hope in Him. Let us remember Him. Let us remember all He has done for us and all the times He has brought us through trials and struggles. Maybe, as we look up into an eternal God's face, who loves us intimately like a Father, we might find some hope rising.

The song, "As the deer panteth for the water..." is my moms favorite song. While she sings it, one can truly feel the thirst she has for more of Him in her life...

Lovely picture. Our soles will only be quenched by the Righteous One-our living God.Our hope, trust and faith has to be firmly established in Him-just how many times have we fallen and He did pick us up.
Thanks Mike for the lovely words of encouragment... even when we don't know the will of God for our lives we must still trust in His divine program for our life.
Godbless you
