Sing Out!

Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord...
true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth....
if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.
Eph. 5:19 John 4:23 Luke 19:40

Do you have a good singing voice? Perhaps you are gifted at singing and keep your light under a bushel. Maybe you are less than gifted but sing out anyway! Singing is a wonderful way to worship God whatever musical talent we have, and when done in Spirit and truth the sound is pleasing to God. Sometime ago we had a lady in our church who, shall we say, excelled in gifts other than singing! However, that did not stop her lifting her voice to heaven to praise God. She would often start up a worship song in the service and the congregation would slowly join in, frantically trying to find the impossible key she had begun in.

This lady had a love for God and nothing was going to stop her worshipping God. At her funeral, about 18 months ago, many people talked about her love for worship, and we sang many of her favourite worship songs, visualising her with arms outstretched to God. A collection was made in her memory and was put to work in the music and worship ministry in our church, enabling us to worship more effectively. Not bad for someone who couldn't pitch a note but was a fantastic worshipper.

I sing in our church choir but I worry a little. The other day my grandson and I were traveling down the road. I was singing and he said, "Can you please turn on the radio." I guess he wanted to hear the radio over me.

What an absolutey wonderful story. Man looks at the outside God looks at the heart and hears lovely music.

I sing alto, love to harmonize with anyone who can carry a tune.

I've never gone down from a high pitch ;) I'm a Tenor...Wonderful, I know so many who aren't good at singing but before their God they just break out in songs of adoration.

I asked a lady if she could sing, and she said, "I must sing because He loves my voice"

I knew i'd seen that face before! It was over at Suzy's of course, Mike.
And now your blog has been commended by Autumnrose. Easy to see why. I like this story. Don't they say that to sing is to pray twice? Lovely blog, lovely pictures.

I am like that I am afraid!! I love to sing, but my kids roll their eyes !! Luckily in our church it is so loud, so when everybody worships, I don't think I am that disturbing or distracting ;-)

So beautiful and heartwarming. I imagined her singing in Heaven. Wow!
Sidharth relayed an amazing truth; "HE loves my voice". God loves the sound of our voice crying out to Him in songs of praise (even if those next to us are cringing!)
