1 Chronicles 31:21
Let's get one thing straight: God doesn't want you to be a loser but you've got to do certain things: 1) Set realistic goals. Think about what you can really manage and take it a bit at a time. One of the major reasons why many things fail is a lack of focus. So avoid distractions: 'A double minded man is unstable' (James 1:8). 2) Set deadlines. Most people don't plan to fail, they just fail to plan! If you're not organised write things down. Above all, guard and watch your time. 'Use your head. Make the most of every chance you get' (Ephesians 5:16 TM). 3) Do your homework. 'A wise man will hear and increase in learning' (Proverbs 1:5 NAS). If you'll pay for a hot CD but not a good book, you are showing that you value your pleasure more than your progress. Leaders are readers! 4) Trust God. If He's given you a plan or a dream, trust Him even when things look bleak. Be positive and expectant that He's going to come through. 5) Help others become successful. Don't expect everyone to support your dreams, plans and ideas if you don't support theirs! 'Remember that the Lord will reward each one of us for the good we do' (Ephesians 6:8 NLT). That means sometimes you put others first! 6) Put God first. You are His child, He wants you to succeed. What father wouldn't? So make a decision today to do everything you can to deepen your relationship with Him: 'Stop quarrelling with God...and things will go well for you' (Job 22:21 NLT).
