Promise

For the revelation awaits an appointed time;it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it, it will certainly come and will not delay...There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven....at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
Hab. 2:3 Eccl. 3:1 Gal.6:9

Yesterday I had almost decided what I would write in my post today, but as I was dropping off to sleep I had a very strong sense that God wanted me to talk about promise. I have been thinking recently about some promises that God gave me some years ago. I wrote them in my journal. When they came to me they were exciting and real. They stirred up longing and emotion in me. But something has happened since I received those words. Years have come and gone. I have questioned whether they really were God's promises or just my wishful thinking. I have said to God that if he really did make those promises, then what on earth is he doing about it?

I believe that God wants to encourage us today to hold on. Thank you Sidharth for your encouragement to not give up. There is a season for everything. Sometimes we blame ourselves for the things that don't seem to be happening in our lives, but all things will come to us if we trust in his word to us. All things will come to us; at just the right time.

Mike, I want to tell you that you r
are not alone... you must have faith that whatever God says He ll bring it to pass, am so happy you know the Bible very well and I must confess too that I also have a journal/notebooks where I write God's promises and instructions to me. even those for the future but you know what... when I do go back to the book I find that they have come to pass. the key to enjoying God's promises I believe is to be ever in His Presence and have faith.

Hebrews 11:39,40 :) These did not receive the promise, yet their faith was commended. :)

Receiving from God is a very small part of faith. The greater part is personal committment. In contemporary churches there is much emphasis on receiving from God, which is not wrong, but it's a very small part of faith.

The three hebrew boys in the book of Daniel had great faith in their God. They said, "We will not bow down before the image. Our God will come and save us, but even if He doesn't, we will not bow down before the image" [paraphrased]. These may seem words of doubt, but they were words of solid committment to God. :)
